Job summary

Yuma Regional Medical Center is seeking a Hospital Billing and Coding Supervisor to oversee inpatient and outpatient medical coding tasks and staff, ensuring accuracy and productivity across high-volume services.

Under the supervision of the Coding Manager, the role requires an Associate's degree, CCS/RHIT/RHIA certifications, and extensive experience with Epic (Resolute) Health Information System. Remote work option with strong organizational skills supported by the HIM team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Required: Associate's degree in Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
• High degree of organization and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to Communicate, solve problems and assign work effectively.
• Experience with multiple specialty coding including Cardiology, GI, Oncology, and Orthopedics.

Responsibilities

• Monitors medical coders accuracy through audits.
• Monitors medical coders productivity.
• Manages medical coders' attendance needs including PTO, holidays, call offs, schedule changes, sick time.
• Runs team meetings to discuss changes and address questions.
• Coordinates education/training to medical coders as needed.
• Counsels, coaches, and takes corrective action with HIM coding manager.
• Resolves problems and answers questions promptly.
