Job summary

Onvida Health is seeking a Hospital Billing and Coding Supervisor to oversee inpatient and outpatient medical coding tasks and staff. The role includes supervising workload across high-volume services, conducting audits, and ensuring accuracy and productivity.

Under the Coding Manager, you will coach staff, coordinate training, and help manage attendance and workload. A CCS and an associate degree are essential, with 5 years of coding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is essential.
• RHIT and RHIA certifications are preferred.
• Minimum five years of medical coding experience, including supervision responsibilities.
• Proficient with Epic (Resolute) Health Information System and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Monitor coders' accuracy through regular audits.
• Monitor coders' productivity and attendance (PTO, holidays, sick leave).
• Lead team meetings and coordinate department changes with the coding manager.
• Provide education/training to coders as needed.
• Counsel, coach and implement corrective actions in collaboration with HIM coding leadership.
• Manage the coding supervisor workqueue and escalate complex cases as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI and PII; adhere to HIPAA requirements.
