Job summary

AAA The Auto Club Group is hiring a Desk Homeowners Claim Representative II. This role handles end-to-end property loss claims, including investigation, coverage review, damage evaluation, settlement negotiation, and coordination with internal teams.

Preferred candidates reside within 50 miles of Tampa, FL, though the position may support remote work. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to manage claims per policy and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Complete ACG Claim Representative Training Program or demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experience
• Eligible to acquire a State Adjuster’s license within 90 days of hire in states requiring it
• Valid driver’s license required if in-person inspections or meetings are needed
• One year of experience negotiating claim settlements, securing and evaluating evidence, preparing estimates, subrogation claims, resolving coverage questions, taking statements, and establishing evaluation/resolution plans

Responsibilities

• Review assigned claims
• Contact the insured and other parties
• Set expectations for the remainder of the claim and document in claims system
• Complete coverage analysis reviewing policy coverages and provisions
• Identify all possible policyholder benefits
• Create sub-claims or refer complex claims
• Investigate facts to determine payment vs. exclusions and recovery potential
• Review damages and apply state law and other factors
• Evaluate financial value of the loss and approve payments
• Refer claims to other units when needed (Underwriting, Recovery, SIU)
• Document and code the claim file and complete closure activities
• Utilize strong negotiating skills
• Handle claims valued between $5,000-$25,000 (desk) and up to $100,000 (field)
• Investigate coverage analysis as needed
• Review estimates for accuracy
• Monitor contractor repair status and updates
