Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a motivated field claims professional in the United States. This role handles the life-cycle of field claims from investigation to resolution, with emphasis on property lines in an assigned territory.

After initial in-person training, there is merit-based flexibility to work from home up to five days per week. Strong communication and data interpretation skills are essential, as is a valid driver's license for on-site investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or direct equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims.
• Minimum of 3 years handling multi-line property and casualty claims with emphasis on property claims.
• Field claims handling experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss and liability.
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in an assigned territory with emphasis on property claims.
• Become familiar with insurance coverage by studying policies, endorsements and forms.
• Work toward resolution of claims and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions or trials as necessary.
• Ensure claims payments are issued timely and accurately.
• Handle investigations by phone, mail and on-site.
