Job summary

Post University seeks a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to advise institutional stakeholders and support the university's legal and regulatory framework. The role emphasizes collaboration under University Counsel, with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and policies for in-person and online programs.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school.
• attaining approved house counsel status in Connecticut is required.
• Strong critical thinking and excellent legal analysis skills.
• Interest in developing expertise in contract review and key contractual provisions such as copyright ownership, data privacy and IT security.
• Ability and desire to develop working knowledge of laws, regulations and policies related to higher education.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Speak effectively one on one, or in small or large groups in person and virtual presentations.
• Superior drafting and negotiating skills.
• Strong research, writing, editing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates a variety of agreements including vendor and technology agreements, strategic partnerships and data privacy and security matters.
• Reviews outgoing group student communications for regulatory compliance.
• Provides legal advice relating to ethical operations and compliance.
• Assists with international compliance for the student population.
• Supports legal and compliance groups on privacy, GLBA, GDPR, NCAA, FERPA, TCPA, Title VI and marketing as needed.
• Performs legal research and develops educational resources for the institution.
