Job summary

Post University seeks a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to serve as in-house counsel for contracts, privacy, and regulatory matters. The role focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with vendors, technology partners, and cross-border matters, while advising on FERPA, GDPR, data protection, and IT security in a remote-capable setting.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school.
• Active bar admission and good standing in at least one state.
• Minimum two years of practicing attorney experience.
• Interest in contract review and key provisions (copyright, data privacy, IT security).
• Higher education experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation abilities.
• Willingness to learn evolving laws and policies relevant to higher education.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in common office software.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates vendor and technology contracts.
• Reviews outgoing group communications for regulatory compliance.
• Provides legal advice on ethical operations and compliance.
• Assists with international compliance for international students.
• Assists with intellectual property matters as requested.
• Supports privacy, data protection, IT security, and related areas.
• Performs legal research and develops educational resources.
• Collaborates with university associates across departments.
• Remote role with minimal travel.
