Job summary

Solve Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation to own the preliminary substation design lifecycle for utility-scale solar and related interconnections. The role is fully remote with location details discussed in interview.

The position requires coordinating with engineering teams, estimators, and contractors to develop 10% design deliverables, equipment sizing, and layouts that align with project scope and schedules. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• PE licensure is a nice-to-have, not mandatory.
• Minimum 3+ years of electrical substation engineering experience.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP) and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the first-pass 10% substation design for assigned pursuits and projects.
• Review client documents, interconnection agreements and standards to identify requirements and risks.
• Act as the subject matter expert for substation design and coordinate inputs from multiple teams.
