Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for HV infrastructure projects, including substations and transmission lines. This remote role requires coordinating planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment to ensure seamless handoff from concept to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, high-voltage projects, estimating, or project management.
• 3+ years of experience leading preconstruction activities preferred.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $10M preferred.
• Familiarity with high-voltage substations, transmission/distribution, utility interconnection, electrical codes, EPC/design-build.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts for HV projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV+.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Develop project execution strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from inception through turnover.
• Prepare cost estimates and analyze designs and bid documents.
• Review labor, equipment, and material pricing; maintain cost databases.
• Serve as primary preconstruction contact for clients and utilities.
• Participate in pursuits and proposals; lead kickoff and alignment sessions.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate on detailed schedules with engineering, operations and procurement.
• Support procurement strategy; evaluate proposals and develop scopes.
• Ensure alignment between estimates, schedules and execution plans.
