Job summary

Option Care Health, Inc. is seeking an Intake Specialist to support a smooth and efficient patient intake experience for referrals and providers. The role starts with in-person training in Columbia, SC, Greenville, or Charleston, then transitions to fully remote work.

The team handles insurance verification, enrollment, and coordination with care plans. The position requires strong communication, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks while delivering high-quality patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 3 years healthcare-related customer service experience.
• Experience with medical billing, coding, and benefits verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient demographics, insurance, and clinical information.
• Input accurate data and update patient records.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits.
• Submit and track prior authorization requests.
• Schedule services in line with care plan.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records.
• Communicate with patients and referral sources about referrals.
• Assist with enrollment for programs to reduce out-of-pocket costs.
• Answer phone inquiries and triage as needed.
• Train new team members.
• Promote workflow improvements.
• Comply with company best practices.
