Pearson is seeking candidates to join Evaluation as a remote scorer for NY-based scoring subjects, with a starting rate of $17.50 per hour and a part-time, remote schedule.

You will evaluate responses, internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions with other scorers, and address bias while meeting quality and productivity targets. Training precedes scoring, and sessions run weekdays with occasional days every 8 weeks.

Qualifications

• Health background or related field required.
• Active or recently retired practitioners are eligible to score.
• Educators from colleges or universities who taught or advised a content relevant field within the last three years are eligible.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias (e.g., implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, halo effect) and discuss strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
