Techknowledge Group is a white-glove HCM and payroll consulting firm. We hire a mid-level Implementation & Optimization Consultant to own client relationships from go-live through ongoing optimization, configuring systems, migrating data, training users, and guiding change management.

This fully remote role focuses on delivering continuous improvement for multiple client accounts. The role requires 3-5+ years in payroll/HCM with hands-on implementation/optimization experience and familiarity

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in payroll, HR, or HCM, including implementations or optimization.
• Familiarity with major HCM/payroll platforms such as Paylocity, Paycor, Paycom, or Rippling.
• Strong project management skills to balance new implementations and ongoing optimization.
• Excellent attention to payroll data accuracy, tax setup, and compliance.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Consultative, client-first mindset with interest in long-term relationships and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work remotely and independently; proficient with Microsoft 365 and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle HCM/payroll system implementations from kickoff to go-live and post-launch support.
• Build and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones with stakeholders.
• Validate, clean, and migrate client payroll, HR, and historical data into the new platform.
• Configure HCM/payroll settings to match client requirements, including tax setup and reporting.
• Train client administrators and end users; drive adoption through change management.
• Own ongoing optimization for existing clients with configuration, workflows, and reports improvements.
• Stay current on platform updates and recommend changes to keep systems running well.
• Serve as day-to-day contact for clients during implementation and ongoing optimization.
• Collaborate with managed payroll/HR and concierge teams for seamless handoffs post go-live.
• Identify and troubleshoot data or configuration issues, escalating to vendors when needed.
