Job summary

Techknowledge Group is hiring a mid-level Implementation & Optimization Consultant to own client relationships beyond go-live. The role covers the full lifecycle from initial transition to ongoing optimization, refining configuration, workflows, and reporting as client needs evolve.

You'll validate and migrate data, build and manage project plans, configure the system, train end users, and guide change management, then transition into recurring health checks and platform updates for clients

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in payroll, HR, or HCM with hands-on implementation, configuration, migration, or optimization work.
• Familiarity with major HCM/payroll platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Paycor, Paycom, Rippling).
• Strong project management skills to balance multiple implementations and client optimization work.
• Attention to payroll data accuracy, tax setup, and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Consultative, client-first mindset with interest in long-term relationships.
• Continuous-improvement mentality to optimize an already-live system.
• Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Excel; QuickBooks or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle HCM/payroll implementations for new clients from kickoff to post-launch support.
• Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones.
• Validate, clean, and migrate client payroll, HR, and historical data into the new platform.
• Configure system settings (pay groups, earnings/deductions, workflows, tax, reporting) to match client needs.
• Train client admins and end users and drive adoption through change management.
• Own ongoing optimization for existing clients, refining configuration, workflows, and reports.
• Stay current on platform updates and vendor releases and implement changes.
• Serve as day-to-day point of contact for initial implementation and ongoing relationship.
• Coordinate with managed payroll/HR and concierge teams for smooth handoffs post go-live.
