Job summary

Virtual Vocations Inc. is seeking a full-time Remote HCC Coder with CRC to review and code medical records for reimbursement and compliance while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

The role requires coding certifications (HCS-D/CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H/CPC or RHIT/RHIA with additional credential within one year) and 1–3 years of coding experience. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess one of the following coding certifications at time of hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC, or RHIT/RHIA with additional credential within one year.
• One to three years of experience as a coder required.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with an encoder and Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and assigns appropriate codes to inpatient and outpatient medical records, ensuring compliance with federal regulations
• Abstracts essential data for quality improvement and communicates issues to the Clinical Coding Manager & Supervisor
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and resolves pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts

Required qualifications
