Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Group Product Manager to lead a NextGen portfolio, owning discovery, requirements, and shipping in close collaboration with engineering and design. You’ll mentor a small team of Product Managers, shape strategy across multiple solutions, and drive AI-enabled improvements for higher education workflows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself.
• Experience mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of personally shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software products with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Product Ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end—discovery, requirements, prioritization, and ship with engineering and design partners.
• Team Leadership & Development: lead, mentor, and grow a small PM team, set expectations, and recruit talent as the team expands.
• Product Strategy & Execution: own vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio and identify opportunities to connect across solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and drive adoption.
