Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio is seeking an experienced Group Product Manager to own one or more NextGen solutions end‑to‑end, drive discovery, write requirements, and ship with cross‑functional partners. You will mentor a small team of Product Managers, shape the portfolio strategy, and push for AI-enabled features that reduce manual work for campus staff and improve student outcomes.

This role reports to senior product leadership and supports a remote/hybrid model for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a track record of shipping products.
• 1+ year mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with Go-To-Market teams to launch complex SaaS/platform products.
• Track record of shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable business impact.
• Ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on product ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end, run discovery, write requirements, prioritize, and ship with engineering and design partners.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers; set expectations and help recruit talent as the team expands.
• Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap; translate business goals into a sequenced plan delivering value to institutions and students.
• Cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and drive adoption.
