Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio is seeking an experienced Group Product Manager to lead a small team of Product Managers, owning one or more NextGen solutions from discovery to shipping. You will shape a cohesive strategy, align across engineering, design, and client support, and drive measurable outcomes for campuses and students.

You’ll own the portfolio strategy, drive AI-enabled initiatives, and collaborate with sales and GTM teams to ensure successful launches in a dynamic higher-education

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a track record of shipping products, including 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio, translating business goals into a sequenced plan that delivers value to institutions and students.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers, setting clear expectations and helping each PM sharpen their craft.
• Identify opportunities to connect the portfolio for shared workflows, integrations, and data to deliver more value together.
• Identify and build practical applications of AI across the portfolio to eliminate manual work for campus staff and simplify the student journey.
• Partner with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan and execute launches, ensuring market readiness and adoption.
