Job summary

Nelnet's NextGen portfolio seeks a Group Product Manager to own one or more NextGen solutions—leading discovery, writing requirements, and shipping with engineering and design partners—while guiding and growing a small PM team. You will shape a cohesive strategy across NextGen’s solutions and align across engineering, design, sales, implementation, and client support to drive real impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself, including 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go‑to‑market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of personally shipping AI‑enabled or data‑driven software products with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on ownership: run discovery, write requirements, prioritize, and ship with engineering and design.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers with clear expectations.
• Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio.
• Partner with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and ensure market readiness.
