Job summary

Nelnet is hiring a GenAI Engineer to own the technical build and deployment of Gemini Enterprise solutions. You will translate backlog items into working agentic AI applications, implement RAG pipelines, and integrate with enterprise data sources on Google Cloud.

You will collaborate with Data and Ops teams to ensure quality, security, and scalable delivery across higher education and SLED clients, while supporting a hybrid in-office/remote work model.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building GenAI solutions and deployments in production.
• Direct experience with Gemini Platform or Vertex AI preferred.
• Experience with LLMs, prompting, fine-tuning, grounding, and RAG.
• Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration and A2A protocols.
• Cloud data/services and IAM for AI workloads; Google Cloud familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
• Implement RAG pipelines and grounding using platform search capabilities.
• Integrate Agent2Agent protocols and multi-agent orchestration patterns.
• Build live API and tool-calling integrations for real-time client actions.
• Maintain solution architecture docs and reusable playbooks.
• Ensure release readiness with evaluation and regression testing.
