Job summary

Nelnet seeks a skilled GenAI Platform Engineer to own the build and deployment of agentic AI solutions on the Gemini Enterprise Platform. You will translate backlog items into working solutions, integrate RAG pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable production deployments for higher education and SLED clients.

You will collaborate with Data and AgentOps teams to align data readiness, infrastructure, and deployment, delivering high-quality software and repeatable playbooks across engagements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
• Experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or Vertex AI predecessors or similar platforms.
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning or grounding techniques.
• Familiarity with RAG pipelines and enterprise data integration.
• Knowledge of cloud data services and container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants and GenAI apps on Gemini Enterprise Platform.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and grounding.
• Build live API and tool-calling integrations for real-time actions in client systems.
• Maintain solution architecture docs and reusable playbooks.
• Ensure quality with code reviews and release readiness.
