Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a GenAI Platform Engineer to own the technical build and deployment of Gemini-based agentic solutions on Google Cloud. You will translate backlog items into working agents, RAG pipelines, and model integrations for higher education and SLED clients.

You will collaborate with Data and AgentOps engineers to ensure data readiness, deployment readiness, and production-quality delivery. This role supports hybrid work with in-office and remote arrangements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
• Experience with Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform or its predecessor Vertex AI preferred.
• Familiarity with RAG pipelines and grounding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants and GenAI applications.
• Implement RAG pipelines and grounding using built-in capabilities.
• Integrate cross-agent orchestration patterns where engagements require them.
• Build live API and tool-calling integrations to enable real-time actions in client systems.
• Maintain documentation of solution architecture and integrations.
