Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a remote/hybrid GenAI Platform Engineer to build and deploy Gemini Enterprise solutions on Google Cloud. You will translate client backlog into working agentic apps, integrate RAG pipelines, and ensure alignment with Nelnet's engineering standards.

In this role you will collaborate with Data and AgentOps engineers, design scalable integrations with SIS/ERP systems, and drive delivery quality from backlog through production, focusing on education and public sector clients.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
• Experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or Vertex AI.
• Knowledge of RAG pipelines and grounding techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud data, compute, and IAM on Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants on the Gemini Enterprise Platform.
• Implement RAG pipelines and grounding using the platform's capabilities.
• Integrate Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol and multi-agent orchestration.
• Evaluate models, tune prompts, and monitor performance.
• Build live API and tool-calling integrations with client systems.
• Maintain documentation and reusable playbooks.
• Deliver on schedule and participate in technical discovery.
