Job summary
Nelnet is seeking a GenAI Platform Engineer to lead the technical build and deployment of GenAI solutions on Google Cloud, focusing on the Gemini Enterprise Platform and agentic assistants for higher education and SLED clients.
You will collaborate with the Data Engineer and AgentOps Engineer on data readiness, architecture, and deployment, operating in a hybrid work environment with in-office and remote work. Authorized United States work status is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
- Experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform (Agent Builder, Model Garden, Workspace Studio) or its predecessor Vertex AI.
- Familiarity with RAG pipelines and grounding techniques.
- Experience with cloud data services and IAM.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants on the Gemini Enterprise Platform.
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and grounding.
- Integrate Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol and multi-agent orchestration patterns.
- Build live API integrations with client systems (SIS, ERP, casework systems).
- Ensure release readiness with evaluation and regression testing.
