n8n is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed on-site with enterprise customers, turning deployments into production-grade workflows and reusable automation patterns. You will partner with Deployment Strategists, Product, and Engineering to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions and document playbooks for future engagements.

Qualifications

• Solid full-stack or backend engineering experience with production integrations, APIs or automation pipelines.
• Experience building custom nodes, extensions, and integrations with APIs and authentication patterns.
• Ability to distinguish between a one-off workaround, a reusable improvement, and a product feature escalation.
• Strong customer-facing confidence working directly in customer environments.
• Ability to translate messy problems into clean technical design.
• Strong technical judgment to avoid over-engineered solutions.
• Willingness to travel 30-50% for on-site engagements.
• Quickly understand new industries, tech stacks and customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive high-impact enterprise deployments with on-site 5-day engagements.
• Build production-grade automation solutions: workflows, integrations, and custom nodes.
• Bridge customer needs with Product and Engineering and document gaps.
• Turn customer learnings into product features and playbooks for reuse.
• Keep engagements focused, scalable, and with clear outcomes.
• Ensure customers can operate and own the solutions after handover.
