Job summary

Redpanda Data is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with our strategic customers, building agents, integrations, and data pipelines within their environments. You will be the hands-on builder, not a presenter, delivering production-ready solutions on a tight timeline.

With 6–10+ years in software engineering and customer-facing roles, you will navigate unfamiliar codebases and data landscapes, ensuring the delivered solution is maintainable, well-documented, and ready for production

Qualifications

6–10+ years of professional experience in software engineering and customer-facing technical roles.
Production software experience with backend systems, data pipelines, or agent ecosystems.
Ability to read unfamiliar code and extend it without breaking existing behavior.

Responsibilities

Build production-grade agents, integrations, and data pipelines at customer sites within their environments.
Own the technical deliverable from design to handoff, ensuring maintainability and production readiness.
Be the technical voice for Redpanda with the customer’s engineers and ensure seamless integration.
Drive documentation and training to enable the customer’s team to operate independently.
Capture learnings across engagements and communicate product insights back to Product and Engineering.
