Job summary

First American is seeking a Mortgage Foreclosure Specialist to support foreclosure processing across our remote team. You will ensure compliance with state and federal laws, coordinate First Legal Actions, and review files for regulatory adherence, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly related experience in Mortgage Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and/or Legal.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Servicing mortgage accounts to ensure foreclosure is processed in compliance with state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Ensure the First Legal Actions are completed by the established deadlines.
• Conduct reviews of foreclosure files to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Manage foreclosure proceedings by coordinating with mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, and trustees.
• Monitor attorney performance and review timeframes and system activity.
• Follow up on outstanding requests from internal and external partners.
• Audit accounts for expense compliance and proper application to system of record.
• Perform research on loans with questionable items and respond to audit requests.
• Report litigated and class action matters to management.
• Analyze portfolio performance, timelines, and status to ensure compliance.
• Manage exception reporting as a control to minimize risk.
