Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. seeks a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead production ML systems across CX Intelligence. You will design scalable intelligence capabilities, shape technical strategy, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve resolution quality and customer experience.

You will own end-to-end ML projects, mentor engineers, drive design reviews, and ensure security, responsible AI, and observability across the stack while delivering high-impact results at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in machine learning and software engineering.
• Hands-on with LLMs, deep learning, graph neural networks, gradient-boosted trees, or regression; NLP, IR, data mining or statistics.

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery of production ML systems; apply LLMs and other techniques to CX problems.
• Partner with leadership to define strategic roadmaps and translate vision into quarterly plans.
• Lead end-to-end ML projects from architecture to production; manage priorities and risks.
• Build scalable, secure ML systems, evaluation pipelines, and data workflows with high-quality Python code.
• Mentor engineers and set design/testing/observability standards.
• Drive reviews on security, responsible AI, model quality, and architectural integrity.
