Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the CX Intelligence team.

You will lead design and delivery of production ML systems, shaping technical strategy and partnering with product and engineering to improve resolution quality, automation, safety, and customer experience. The role requires 8+ years in ML and software engineering, deep expertise in ML methods, and strong Python skills to ship production-grade code.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in machine learning and software engineering with production ML systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, deep learning, graph neural networks, or gradient-boosted trees; NLP knowledge.
• Strong Python skills to write maintainable, well-tested production code for ML services.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading design reviews across a team or organization.

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery of production ML systems using LLMs and deep learning.
• Define strategic roadmaps with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead ML projects end-to-end from architecture through production.
• Build scalable, secure ML systems and data workflows with high-quality Python code.
• Mentor engineers and establish team-wide standards for design, testing, and observability.
• Drive design reviews on security, responsible AI, and architectural integrity.
