Job summary

240 Tutoring, Inc in the United States is seeking a hands-on Controller to own the accounting function end-to-end—close, ledger, payroll, order-to-cash, tax and compliance—for a profitable remote-first company with two business lines, partner and district billing, and remote employees in about fifteen states.

You’ll ensure audit-ready books, build scalable systems, and partner with the CFO on board materials and diligence. Real ownership awaits in a growing, mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in accounting with increasing scope.
• Hands-on ASC 606 experience in a subscription or deferred-revenue business.
• Multi-state payroll and multi-state sales/use tax experience.
• Experience building close processes, checklists, and controls from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and financial reporting, including consolidated financials and segment P&Ls.
• Manage revenue accounting for ASC 606 across subscriptions and partner-funded models.
• Oversee order-to-cash with partners and districts, AR aging and collections.
• Handle procure-to-pay, payroll, and cash management across multiple states.
• Oversee tax and regulatory compliance with outside CPA firm; ensure SOC 2 readiness.
• Design and document internal controls and manage external audit relationships.
