Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Financial Reporting Intern to support the Professional Services team by applying XBRL tagging to documents and creating SEC reporting files for public companies, ensuring accuracy before filing deadlines.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, test features for QA, and help research new mandates while learning the core aspects of the role. This is a primarily remote internship with hybrid options near our office hubs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in Accounting. GPA of 3.2+ preferred.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
• Strong communication and leadership skills demonstrated through leadership positions in community, school, or other programs.
• Experience using Excel, Word, Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement regulatory reporting files in various taxonomies for public companies using industry-leading software.
• Apply XBRL tagging information to financial statements and statement footnotes.
• Tie-out XBRL tagging information within financial statements and statement footnotes to ensure accuracy prior to filing deadline.
• Support Professional Services Managers and Directors while learning the core aspects of each position.
• Test features for Quality Assurance and participate in special projects such as researching new mandates and creating XBRL tagging examples.
