Job summary

Kaplan is seeking a Financial Aid Officer to evaluate aid eligibility for students throughout their academic career, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. The role involves processing functions and collaboration with multiple departments.

Key responsibilities include awarding aid from various sources, verifying Title IV documentation, and managing complex financial aid issues while maintaining high performance standards. Remote nationwide role with full-time hours and specific schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or required.
• CampusNexus software knowledge would be beneficial.
• State and federal funding policy knowledge is preferred.
• Knowledge of Title IV policy and funding programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility and accurately award aid following established guidelines for all fund sources including grants, loans, tuition assistance, military sources, etc.
• Accurately assess and approve documentation related to Title IV Verification, C Code, and other requirements.
• Calculate and schedule excess funding to be returned to a student, lender, or other source.
• Complete drop evaluations, including the Return to Title IV calculation, for students that cease attending.
• Manage complex financial aid issues and troubleshoot potential problems.
• Review and adjust accounts as needed.
• Coordinate with team members, leaders, and other departments as needed.
• Maintain minimum job performance standards, including quality, production, cohort management, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
