Job summary

Assist World is seeking a Finance Support / Accounting Assistant for a fully remote role in the United States. You will support AP/AR, reconciliations, inventory and month-end close, working with the Controller and senior accounting staff to maintain accurate financial records.

You’ll use Sage, excel, and standard finance tools to drive accuracy and timely reporting while collaborating with internal teams and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounting, bookkeeping or finance support role.
• Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience with bank and account reconciliations.
• Understanding of month-end close processes.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Experience using accounting software.
• Sage experience is highly desirable.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the finance and accounting team.
• Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) processes.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Support month-end financial close.
• Assist with account and bank reconciliations.
• Help reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies.
• Support inventory-related accounting and reporting.
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining financial data.
• Enter and update financial information accurately.
• Help investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Work with the wider finance team to complete month-end requirements.
• Use Sage to maintain and review financial information.
• Communicate with internal teams via email, phone and Microsoft Teams.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
