Job summary

OpenKrill is seeking a remote Finance Support / Accounting Assistant to backstop the finance team in a growing US company. This role covers AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close, working alongside the Controller and senior accounting staff to keep processes accurate and on schedule.

You will use Sage for financial work, communicate with internal teams, and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and English proficiency. The position is fully remote with a national scope.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance support.
• Understanding of AP and AR processes.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Sage experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the finance and accounting team.
• Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) processes.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Support month-end financial close.
• Assist with account and bank reconciliations.
• Help reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies.
• Support inventory-related accounting and reporting.
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining financial data.
• Enter and update financial information accurately.
• Help investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Work with the wider finance team to complete month-end requirements.
• Use Sage to maintain and review financial information.
• Communicate with internal teams via email, phone and Microsoft Teams.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
