Job summary

Modern IT is seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist to join our remote Finance team. You will own daily accounting activities across AP, AR, banking, reconciliations, payroll support, and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and proper controls.

You will work with ConnectWise PSA, QuickBooks Online, WiseSync, and WisePay to process bills, apply payments, and manage reconciliations, with a focus on timely, documented work for the Controller. This is a full-time, remote role aligned to U.S.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive bookkeeping/ accounting operations experience.
• Three+ years of ConnectWise PSA accounting experience in MSP/tech environment.
• Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency.
• Excellent documentation, self-review, and deadline-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own daily accounting activities across AP, AR, banking, reconciliations, payroll support, and month-end close.
• Process vendor bills and credits with three-way matching.
• Apply customer payments, maintain allocations, and perform routine collections follow-up.
• Prepare payment schedules and workflows for Controller approval.
• Run reconciliations for bank, credit cards, and assigned accounts.
• Support payroll preparation and time/expense compliance.
