Job summary

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is seeking a Field Technician Support II to deliver technical field support for PSAPs across South Carolina. The role combines on-site installation, configuration, and testing of networking and telephony equipment with remote coordination and proactive maintenance.

You will troubleshoot VoIP/SIP systems, work with Windows/Linux environments, and lead on-site deployments while supervising subcontractors. Safety and compliance are emphasized throughout the work.

Qualifications

• Associate level in technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience with IP networking equipment and systems.
• Experience with carrier circuits, demarcation points, and telecom providers.
• Understanding of legacy telephony and modern VoIP/SIP-based systems.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux; exposure to server virtualization.
• Strong communication and on-site field support skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for PSAPs across South Carolina; coordinate with NOC.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking and telephony equipment.
• Lead on-site deployments and supervise subcontractor personnel.
• Perform preventive maintenance, configure equipment, and document status in ticketing system.
• Coordinate with network teams and carriers for issue resolution and call routing.
• Maintain inventory and spare equipment for ongoing operations.
