COMTECH TELECOMMUNICATIONS is seeking a Field Technician Support II for the South Carolina NG9-1-1 program. Position involves on-site PSAP deployments, troubleshooting, and coordinating with the Network Operations Center.

Telecommuting from home office and client sites is included, with occasional travel to customer locations. The role requires 3–5 years in IP networking and VoIP systems, strong communication, and experience with Windows, Linux, virtualization, and Cisco devices.

Qualifikationen

• Associate level in technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in IP networking equipment and systems.
• Experience with carrier circuits, demarcation points, and telecom providers.
• Understanding of legacy telephony (POTS) and modern VoIP/SIP in hybrid environments.
• Effective communication skills.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, server virtualization, and Cisco routing/switching.
• Field work at customer sites with safety precautions.
• Occasional overtime and ability to travel; personal vehicle with IRS mileage reimbursement.

Aufgaben

• Resolve field issues by visiting PSAPs for support and coordination with Network Operations Center.
• Provide on-call coverage (weeknights and weekends).
• Perform on-site preventive maintenance for workstations, servers, and equipment.
• Support deployment of new PSAP sites and moves within NG9-1-1.
• Troubleshoot NG9-1-1 telephony systems, call routing, and SIP endpoints.
• Diagnose ANI/ALI and call routing issues with carriers and network teams.
• Lead on-site and supervise subcontractors during PSAP deployments/moves.
• Install, configure, and test routers, switches, PDUs, workstations, IP phones, and serial converters.
• Provide project status updates and maintain ticketing records.
• Maintain inventory and participate in special projects.
