Job summary
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. in Orangeburg, SC seeks a Field Technician Support II to install, configure, and maintain PSAP equipment, servers, workstations, and IP telephony components across South Carolina, including on-site and home-office support.
You will coordinate with the Network Operations Center, provide on-call coverage, supervise subcontractors during deployments, and ensure reliability of Next Generation 9-1-1 systems through hands-on field service, testing, and preventive
Qualifications
- Associate level in technical field (networking, IT, workstations) or equivalent
- 3-5 years of related experience in IP networking equipment
- Experience with carrier circuits and telecom providers
- Understanding of legacy telephony and VoIP systems in hybrid environments
- Proficiency with Windows/Linux and basic server virtualization
Responsibilities
- Resolve field operational issues by visiting PSAPs and coordinating with NOC
- Provide on-call coverage during weeknights and weekends
- Perform on-site preventive maintenance for workstations, servers, and equipment
- Support deployment and moves of PSAPs within the NG9-1-1 system
- Troubleshoot telephony/VoIP systems and SIP endpoints
- Lead on-site technical efforts and supervise subcontractors
- Install/configure test and operational equipment per checklists
- Provide project status updates and maintain inventory
