Job summary

bioMe9rieux seeks a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the assigned territory and nationally, traveling overnight as needed. The role demands strong technical skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work remotely without direct supervision while ensuring top-tier customer experience.

Responsibilities include installations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment moves, with on-call rotations and compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline
• 2+ years troubleshooting/repair experience in electro-mechanical/electronic systems
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience
• Must have and maintain a valid drivers license in state of residence

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades and repairs.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements and identify sales opportunities.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend product training within the first year; travel as needed.
• Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits with overnight stays as required.
• Participate in on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Maintain service work orders, QA checklists and internal training requirements.
• Submit travel expense reports regularly to avoid penalties.
• Follow company policies for fleet, inventory and equipment handling.
• Represent bioMerieux professionally and support trade shows as needed.
