Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver on-site technical support for IR equipment, focusing on responsive, customer-centered service. The role involves installation, maintenance, and servicing of machinery across customer sites, with potential travel in the US.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of related technical experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license. A remote-friendly setup is offered with substantial travel.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant technical background including millwright, maintenance, engineering, field service experience, or equivalent experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• The job includes an assigned vehicle for work use, so the candidate must have a valid license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support during repair and/or installation at customers' sites to ensure standards are met and equipment integrity is maintained
• Ensure safe work practices are followed and report all safety incidents
• Improve responsiveness by being available for sales calls, technical walk downs, and providing solutions that differentiate IR's proposals
• Complete required reports including Service Reports, Customer Call Reports, Expense Reports and Time Sheets with timely follow-up and invoicing
• Suggest improvements to processes to improve customer response time and data accuracy
• Maintain proficiencies using vibration analysis and laser alignment equipment for balancing and testing
• Generate sales leads from customers to expand IR installed base and CRM data
