Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC is seeking a Field Service Technician C to provide technical support for Transformer Service within the US Services HUB. You will perform mechanical work in electrical substations, inspect equipment, and service and adjust components that operate on mechanical systems.

You will document site activities with computer systems, operate vacuum oil processors, support transformer testing, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of professional work experience required.
• Experience performing mechanical work in electrical substations and supporting field service activities.
• Ability to use computers and software to enter data and process information related to site visits.
• Valid driver's license required and ability to travel up to 85%.
• Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
• Possession of a Class A CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify errors, defects, or other issues.
• Service, repair, and adjust equipment components operating on mechanical systems.
• Resolve customer issues by evaluating information and selecting appropriate solutions.
• Use computers and software to set up functions, enter data, and process site visit information.
• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processors and oil handling equipment under site leadership direction.
• Complete vacuum oil processing logs.
• Support site transformer testing activities.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
