Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an experienced field service professional to provide hands-on support for power transformers, including installation, maintenance, and end-of-life services.

You will work on-site in challenging field conditions and remotely with customers to ensure reliability and safe operation of critical assets. Your work includes reading electrical and mechanical drawings, following manuals, and performing detailed service activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 2+ years field experience or HS diploma with 5+ years of experience.
• Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and transformer field testing.
• Familiarity with transformer installation and assembly, vacuum and oil processing, and internal transformer components.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site and remote service activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
• Support customer operations by addressing technical issues and anticipating service needs.
• Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, instructions, and technical manuals.
• Complete internal transformer work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, taping, and contoured joints.
• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as directed.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs, including tools, resources, and spare parts.
• Contribute ideas for product and process improvements that enhance operations and customer service.
