Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician C to deliver mechanical services in electrical substations across the US. You will inspect, service, repair, and adjust mechanical components, document site activities, and support transformer testing under site leadership.

The role requires hands-on mechanical work, travel up to 85%, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. A high school diploma and experience in substations are required; CDL and welding experience

Qualifications

• Candidate must already have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of professional work experience required.
• Experience performing mechanical work in electrical substations and supporting field service activities.
• Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel up to 85%.
• Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
• Possession of a Class A CDL is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify errors, defects, or other issues.
• Service, repair, and adjust equipment components operating on mechanical systems.
• Resolve customer issues by evaluating information and selecting appropriate solutions.
• Use computers and software to set up functions, enter data, and process site visit information.
• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processors and oil handling equipment under site leadership direction.
• Complete vacuum oil processing logs.
• Support site transformer testing activities.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
