Job summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage is seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer to install, commission and support drive, power, and automation systems at customer sites, including offshore vessels. You will troubleshoot, lead on-site projects, and develop commissioning procedures.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with extensive travel (up to 85%), offshore HUET readiness, and strong safety etiquette. Remote work options may apply; relocation not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
• Associate's Degree with minimum 5 years related industry experience.
• School diploma or GED with minimum 8 years related industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission drive, power, automation, or dynamic positioning systems at customer sites during ship construction.
• Troubleshoot at site during port visits or offshore, diagnose issues and implement fixes.
• Ensure technical integrity of equipment installation and commissioning.
• Develop documentation for commissioning and maintenance procedures.
• Lead on-site project management and technical leadership to resolve customer issues.
• Identify opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.
• Provide on-call support for customer service.
• Support growth and direction of the North American business.
• Support engineering teams on customer upgrade projects.
• Complete service reports and other administrative requirements.
• Perform work on-board vessels following safety guidelines.
• Extended hours may be required during peak periods.
• Domestic or overseas travel for extended periods.
