Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and commission LV/MV power systems onboard offshore vessels. The role requires 5+ years in Marine or related industries, with a focus on power generation, distribution, and protection relay testing.

The position is remote in the United States with up to 80% travel to customer sites and Siemens Energy facilities. Travel and hands-on problem solving will drive solutions for customers in the Oil & Gas and Marine sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in Marine or related industry.
• Power System Solution Design, Service or Commissioning Experience.
• Experience with protective relay testing.
• Desirable: Automation, SCADA programming; VFD service/commissioning; Marine, Offhore production experience; Siemens Energy drives/Automation solutions.
• Mostly domestic with some international travel (up to ~80%).

Responsibilities

• Perform power system analysis, protection relay testing and commissioning on electrical systems onboard offshore vessels.
• Fault find, service, and commission generators, transformers, and MV/LV switchgear.
• Plan and manage workloads to meet commissioning schedules and deadlines.
• Review and interpret project documentation, system descriptions, specifications, testing procedures, and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with CAD and design teams to test, troubleshoot, commission, and update integrated drawings and solutions.
• Interface directly with customers to resolve technical issues and support Siemens Energy's technologies.
