Job summary

CORE Group is seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer – Power to oversee commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and service of low- and medium-voltage power systems in marine and industrial environments.

You will travel extensively (up to 85%) to vessels, shipyards, offshore sites, and industrial facilities, leading field activities and coordinating with engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commissioning, field service, troubleshooting, or maintenance of power systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 85% and work at vessel sites, shipyards, offshore locations.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic reporting.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, and troubleshoot power distribution and control systems.

Lead Field Service Engineer -Power

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Field Service Engineer – Power to oversee the commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of low- and medium-voltage power distribution and control systems in marine and industrial environments. This pivotal role demands technical expertise, hands-on experience, and the ability to work independently at various customer sites. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power systems during vessel construction, modernization, upgrades, port visits, and offshore operations. Extensive travel, including assignments aboard vessels, in shipyards, offshore, and at industrial sites, is a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, and troubleshoot power distribution and control systems.
• Diagnose complex electrical and system-level issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support vessel construction, modernization, upgrades, and field-service projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commissioning, field service, troubleshooting, or maintenance involving power systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems.
• Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, potentially up to 85%.
• Capable of working aboard vessels, in shipyards, offshore, and industrial environments.
• Preferred qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related fields.
• Experience with LV/MV switchgear, MCCs, circuit breakers, protection relays, VFDs, soft starters, transformers, power-quality meters, load-sharing systems, synchronizers, AVRs, and governors.
• Prior experience in marine or industrial power and propulsion system commissioning or troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
• Willingness to travel on short notice and work in diverse environments.
