Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to travel across the United States, servicing LV/MV power systems on marine and offshore platforms. You will test, commission, and maintain generators, switchgear, and transformers, coordinating with local engineering teams for high-quality solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least five years of relevant experience, with travel up to 80% and strong customer-facing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Marine or a related industry.
• Power System Solution Design, Service or Commissioning Experience
• Experience with protective relay testing
• Automation, SCADA programming experience
• VFD service, commissioning experience
• Marine, Drilling or Offshore production experience
• Experience with Siemens Energy drives, Automation and Marine solutions
• Mostly domestic with some international travel (up to ~80%)

Responsibilities

• Perform power system analysis, protection relay injection testing, and commissioning activities for electrical systems onboard offshore vessels.
• Fault find, service, and commission generators, transformers, and MV/LV switchgear to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Plan and manage workloads, priorities, and project tasks to meet commissioning schedules and completion deadlines.
• Review and interpret project documentation, including system descriptions, functional specifications, testing procedures, and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with CAD and design teams to test, troubleshoot, commission, and update integrated system drawings and solutions.
• Interface directly with customers to resolve technical issues, and support the implementation of Siemens Energy’s latest technologies.
