Job summary

LD power automation seeks a hands-on Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain motor, switchgear, PLC, and control systems aboard large vessels in port. Travel will be required to service marine and industrial power systems, with close collaboration with customers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Ideal candidates combine strong electrical/mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or related certificates with 4–5 years of experience.
• Must possess ability to operate tools and lift at least 40 pounds.
• TWIC card or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Communicate between cooperating parties to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
• Perform field installation, validation, and testing of electrical and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot by observing devices and using meters, PLCs, and data collection tools.
• Remove and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment per procedures.
