Job summary

The Field Service Engineer provides customer technical support by phone, email, and on-site visits to install, repair, or perform preventative maintenance on our instruments. This home-based role entails frequent travel up to 80% of the time in the assigned region, with a preference for the southwestern United States (TX, AZ, NM, NV, CA).

Duties include completing instrument installations and upgrades, maintaining service records, and training customers to use the instruments.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience with automated electro-mechanical instrumentation.
• Two years’ experience in overnight travel for field service work.
• Two year technical degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong technical problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and utilize electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot instruments.
• Communicate with customers and team leads.
• Submit field service reports upon completion of service.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers through prompt communication.
• Assist with regional trade shows and sales support.
