Job summary

Montana Instruments Corporation is seeking a Field Service Engineer/Technician to provide post-sale support, installations, repairs, and maintenance at customer sites, with remote and on-site duties as needed. You will troubleshoot, train users, and prepare service reports from SF and other locations.

The role requires 1–3 years in a technical service capacity, travel flexibility, and strong electronics, software, and mechanical skills. Candidates must read schematics and work with CRM/ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technician experience.
• 1–3 years in a technical service role with travel to customer sites.
• Experience with electronics, software, mechanical, and firmware; cryogenics and heat transfer a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with CRM and ERP software (Salesforce, Epicor).
• Experience with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer problems during on-site visits and remote support.
• Travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, and training.
• Prepare service trip reports and communicate with operations and engineering.
• Issue RMAs and coordinate with Sales, Production and Shipping to complete service work.
• Identify root causes and contribute to quality improvement.
• Support new product initiatives with headquarters and field feedback.
• Sell service capabilities at customer sites with Inside Sales.
• Domestic and international travel 50-75% of the time.
