Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to install, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic instruments in a remote, field-based role covering the San Diego, CA area. The position emphasizes customer-driven service and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable diagnostics that impact patient care.

You will handle installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs while adhering to regulatory and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
2–5 years in Engineering or Laboratory Technology.
Ability to travel up to 40% within the territory.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain diagnostic systems to ensure optimal performance and quality compliance.
Troubleshoot complex instruments, document resolutions, and close service calls on time.
Own customer satisfaction by managing issues from start to resolution or escalation.
Plan and prioritize service visits, maintain inventory, and support after-hour coverage.
Follow regulatory, quality, and safety guidelines during service activities and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor other Field Service Representatives.
Meet targets for service sales, cost of service, and KPIs for accounts.
Use remote tools to maximize instrument uptime and maintain certifications.
