Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer II for a remote, field-based role covering the Pittsburgh, PA region. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic instruments, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction while managing territory travel up to 25%.

You will work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, support on-call rotation, and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery in the Diagnostics Division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in Engineering or Laboratory Technology.
• Ability to travel 25% within the assigned territory.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in team environments.
• Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet) and remote computing tools (VPN, remote troubleshooting).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain diagnostic instruments and ensure compliant operation.
• Diagnose technical problems across multiple instruments and document resolutions.
• Maintain customer satisfaction and build strong relationships through proactive communication.
• Plan and prioritize service visits and manage travel for training or critical accounts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety guidelines during service activities.
